πΈπ² Spring Is Here π²πΈ
Longer days, warmer weather, and more time outside—it’s a beautiful season to explore the outdoors. βοΈ
But spring conditions can be unpredictable. Snow melt, fast-moving water π, muddy trails, and changing weather all bring new challenges.
Before you head out:
π§ Plan your route and tell someone your plan
π Pack the essentials
π₯Ύ Be prepared for wet and slippery terrain
π¦οΈ Check conditions before you go
Our team is ready 24/7 π¨, but the best rescue is the one we don’t need to make.

Interagency Collaboration in Action!
This week, Arrowsmith SAR’s drone team met with the drone team from the Civilian Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) based out of the Nanaimo airport. It was a great opportunity to compare our programs, check out each other’s equipment, and exchange ideas to help strengthen interoperability between our teams.
Afterward, we headed into the field for joint demonstrations and handsβon training. CASARA also brought their Artemis system, based in Pitt Meadows, which can locate lost individuals’ cell phones in remote areas with little or no service. This technology has the potential to significantly reduce search times and enhance overall mission effectiveness.
A big thankβyou to our partners at CASARA for the collaboration and knowledgeβsharing. Looking forward to more training together #searchandrescue

π² Training Where It Matters
Search and Rescue doesn’t happen on flat ground. It happens in dense forests, steep terrain, and unpredictable environments.
That’s why our volunteers train in the same challenging conditions where rescues often occur—practicing patient care, evacuation techniques, and teamwork in real-world terrain.
Preparation, communication, and trust are what allow our team to work safely and effectively when someone needs help.
Every training scenario helps ensure we’re ready whe#arrowsmithsare#searchandrescuem#TrainingInActionR#RescueReadyi#volunteerdrivenueReady #VolunteerDriven ... See MoreSee Less

π² Every Search Starts Somewhere.
Sometimes it begins with a road, a trailhead, or a last known point. From there, our teams spread out mapping terrain, following clues, and searching every possible route.
π¨Search and Rescue is about patience, coordination, and determination. Every member plays a role in covering ground and bringing someone home safely.
β€οΈBehind every search is a team committed to doing the work no matter how big the landscape.
